Rating: - Overall, it's greatI used one of these every day for a couple of years when I had a heinously heavy "laptop" computer (something like 25 lbs with everything plus my lunch in the bag). It was a long walk from car to cube. It worked so well and was so easy to use I ended up using it for a lot of other things, too. It just fits into the smallest overhead compartment, and only takes a couple of seconds to fold out and load up. It's much lighter weight than you would expect (due to hollow tubes), so it's easier than most to hoist into the overhead bin, but also much sturdier than you would expect from the light weight. Mine had the bungee-style cords, and they held up well. I usually had an extra bungee that I would wrap around the thing and cart horizontally for extra security. What's not great about it? I'm 5'7", and it's the perfect height for me. People over about 5'9" should probably get something with a longer handle. Also, if you need support under the whole thing you're carrying, there's a wide gap (maybe 9-10") between the supports if you have the "wings" out. I did have to lubricate the wheels before traveling, or they would start to squeak after a while (or with a heavier-than-usual load). A little spray-on "white lube" works wonders. You may wonder: "why the past tense?" It's not tall enough to be visible in the rear window of my car, and not tough enough to be usable after being run over. Rating: - probably not the best for a car seat carrierWe bought this to use as a car seat carrier, and for that it was a little cumbersome. The straps on it are not the best. I would probably use bungee cords next time. It took more time to get it all attached just right between flights than I would like, but luckily we were not in a hurry. And even when all strapped in I would not have my son ride in the car seat- it just did not feel stable enough for that. If you're using it for luggage it is probably just fine. Rating: - Excellent ProductI use the Samsonite compact luggage cart for carting arroud thick and heavy lab notebooks that I need to grade. I'm a college instructor. The travel cart has been a great help to me. It has a very sturdy construction. Its very easy to fold and unfold. When folded it takes very little space, so that I can place it in the front passenger leg area in my car. Its not very heavy to carry around when folded. It has sturdy wheels and sturdy chords too (the chords are not bungee chords). I transport at a time 25 to 40 lab notebooks without worrying about breaking the cart or its handle. It is perefct sized for domestic use - neither too big nor too small. All in all I think I'm going to have this travel cart around for a long time and put it to good use. Rating: - Samsonite Luggage Cart - It's a good productThe Samsonite luggage card is a good durable product and is performing well on a daily basis. Slightly larger wheels and more adjustment in the strap would be welcome. All in all I am quite satisfied with the product. Rating: - perfect for campus! This sturdy luggage cart beats the quality and price for others that I've seen at all the major department stores. Keeps my back free of weight as I drag books and materials around campus! |
